Why Teflon® and Tedlar® Work for the Food Industry
Teflon® coatings are FDA compliant for direct food contact use and exhibit the inherent non-stick properties at
elevated temperatures, up to 550F, that make them ideal fits for the food processing industry. It can be used in a variety of ways, including Teflon® coated bakery pans and trays to provide release of bread and muffins after baking, and Teflon® coated mixing paddles, scrapers, and vessels to provide release of sticky dough (which increases throughput and provides for quick and easy clean up).
Teflon® films and Teflon® coated fabrics can be used as release sheets or fabricated into belting for conveyance of food products. If you want your food to stick to itself and not to the equipment, then Teflon® is a good fit for your business.
DuPont™ Tedlar® PVF film has been used in numerous commercial applications for over 50 years. It is a biaxially-oriented, highly functional, stable film that provides long-lasting finish. Due to its many non-stick and inert properties, Tedlar® is an excellent protectant for food service area surfaces, such as walls or duct work.
