American Durafilm Hosts Onsite Coatings Training with Fluorogistx Team

Continuing education is a priority for everyone who works for us. We are always looking for ways to elevate existing skillsets, reinforce proper technique, and expand our knowledge base. That’s why this fall we invested in bringing the Fluorogistx team to our shop for a two-day training workshop.

The decision to pull everyone from their daily responsibilities to participate was not made lightly. Before booking, we worked with Chris Lord at Fluorogistx to customize the training to fit our specific needs, ensuring we would get the absolute most out of the experience.

We welcomed Mike and Chris from Fluorogistx and Francesca Vavala from Intech MKT to our Holliston Massachusetts location on a warm, fall day. The morning kicked off with an audit of our coating shop. In advance, we prepped and sprayed parts for discussion. During the audit, Chris had parts for our team to spray and cure in real time. New and seasoned members of our team got to brush-up on their application knowledge, ask questions, and discuss ways to optimize the process.

Our customers are going to benefit from the additional in-shop training as our team is now armed with more in-depth high-performance coatings application knowledge than before. Hands-on work allowed us to work on thin or thick builds, more consistent curing cycles, and targeted troubleshooting.

In the afternoon, members of the American Durafilm sales team, quality assurance, and even VP and President gathered and were walked through the extensive Teflon™ coating products. In this session, we learned how to avoid no-quotes, better guide customers on coating selection, and truly understand the important but often overlooked differences among the product codes within the same product line.

On day two, Francesca Vavala of Intech MKT led the American Durafilm team in a workshop on sales communications. A quality relationship with our customers is the most important part of our business. Our team’s time with Francesca challenged us to go beyond answering questions. We learned how to ask better questions to provide superior service. Francesca’s broad familiarity and experience with Teflon™ coatings as Intech Service’s and Fluorogistx’s marketing resource made the discussions specific and relevant.

Finally, we finished with a whole team discussion led by Fluorogistx on the industries that value Teflon’s performance. Mike Patterson and Chris Lord brought their decades of experience to this module and shared what they’ve in a variety of industries. Their insight allows us to better meet and serve the needs of everything from general industrial, medical, aerospace, textiles, food processing, and more.

American Durafilm coaters are the most trained, experienced, and talented coating specialists in the northeast, if not the country. Our commitment to keep that title shows in the time we took to invest and participate in training from our vendor. We are thrilled to have had the experience and take what we learned back to the customers we work with every day. That’s the American Durafilm difference.
